CEPHALOPODS

The Banchio Group is presently one of the leading operators in the cephalopod market in the whole of europe. Cuttlefish and octopus are the main products marketed by the Group from its offices in Las Palmas, where the oriental fleets that fish in the waters of Mauritania, Guinea and Ghana unload their catches. Through the Singapore office they control the catches from Oman, Yemen, Iran, Indonesia, Vietnam, Thailand, Taiwan, India and China.

TUNA FAMILY

The Banchio Group is currently one of Europe's largest marketers of Sword Fish. The Group regularly buys part of the catch from the Japanese and Chinese tuna fishing fleets through local operators in Las Palmas, mainly, Blue Shark, Mako Shark, Marlin, Scourer, Sail Fish and other Sashimi frozen (-60ºC) fish varieties. This merchandise, along with other catches unloaded in Asia, is the sold throughout Europe and Asia, either as raw material (DWT/WR) or as processed products.

SEAFOOD

The Banchio Group markets catches through commercial agreements with shrimp ship owners that fish mainly in Angola, Sierre Leone and Nigeria and unload in Las Palmas where a strict quality control takes place.

The White Shrimp (Penaeus Notialis) and the Tiger Shrimp (Penaeus Kerathurus) are the star products of this segment, marketed mainly through the European Markets.

MERLUCIDOS

The Banchio Group markets catches through commercial agreements with ship owners that fish in Argentina where a strict quality control takes place.

The main products are the hake H&G and the hake fillets that are marketed mainly in the European Markets. The majority of the fillets are reprocessed in Spain for the following sales to retail clients.

VARIOUS FISH

The Banchio Group markets catches through commercial agreements with ship owners that fish in Mauritania, Guinea Bissau and Guinea Conakry.

The main products are the denton, red mullet and peluda that are marketed mainly in the European and Asian Markets.

PROCESSED PRODUCTS

The Banchio Group reprocesses big quantities from the raw material they handle in their Las Palmas factory as well as in contracted factories in Spain and Asian countries like China and Vietnam. The main processed products are; Whole Clean Cuttlefish in different sizes and packagings and fish fillets coming from West África wich are finally marketed through the Group's sales offices throughout Europe and the multi-national food companies with wich the Group has had exclusive supply contracts for several years.
